ABOUT OUR BEEF

food for your soul

We don’t just want to eat nutritious, flavorful food, but we want to know where it comes from. It’s becoming more important to Know Your Rancher. We want quality beef, the cows to be treated well and the land to be taken care of.

At Palmer Angus our cows are born here and stay on the ranch until they leave to be processed for our plates. No crowded feedlots, no mistreatment…a happy life.

Equally important is how we treat the land. Our cows work within our regenerative system to help improve our soil quality and convert that grass into nutritious protein. Both the land and our cattle work together. Our cows are free to roam pastures all day. We use grains (available to the cows while they are in pasture, not forced) to finish our cattle and provide tender, marbled beef.

How Does Buying A Side Of Beef Work (Half A Cow)?

Like the rest of the herd, these cows spend their whole life on the ranch. No crowded feedlots. The only time they leave is at the end to be processed at a USDA-inspected facility. No two cows are the same, but we are targeting 250 pounds of meat for half a cow. As the buyer of half a cow, you get to select all of your cuts when processing time gets close. Does 250 pounds sound like too much? Many people get family members and friends to split it and everyone gets to enjoy buying direct from the rancher!
